முதல் வேலை, வாழ்வின் முக்கிய, நினைவில் நிற்கும் நேரம். இது முதல் காதலின் சந்திப்பை விட அதிகம் நினைவில் நிற்கும். மிக சிலருக்கே சரியான ஆரம்பம் கிடைக்கிறது. படிப்பை முடித்தவர்களுக்கு, ஆலோசனை கேட்கலாமா, சுய முடிவு எடுக்கலாமா என்ற இரட்டை மனநிலை இருக்கும். பெரும்பாலும் நண்பர்கள் சொல்வதையே முடிவாக எடுப்பார்கள். அதுவே முதல் தவறு. 

First Job is an important and very memorable incident in life. More memorable than first love.  Very few people get a perfect start.  There is a dilemma for someone who just completed studies to seek guidance or take self decision. In most cases the decision is based on what friends do. And, that is the first mistake.

முதல் வேலையை தேர்ந்து எடுக்கும் போது கவனமாக இருங்கள். முயற்சியை விட்டு விடாதீர்கள். எல்லா இடத்திலும் விண்ணப்பம் போட்டு, வேலை கிடைக்கவில்லை என்ற சோர்வு அடையாதீர்கள். நீங்கள் பெரிய வேலைக்கு தகுதியானவர் என்ற காரணம் கூட உங்களுக்கு இப்போது வேலை கிடைக்காமல் இருக்க காரணம் ஆகலாம்.

Be careful in selecting your first job. Never give up.  Don’t apply everywhere, get rejected and dejected.  Remember, in some cases, you are rejected because, your employer may consider that you are more suitable for better job.

வேலையின் தேவைக்கு உங்களை தயார் படுத்துங்கள். உங்கள் தேவைக்கு வேலை தேடாதீர்கள்.

Be prepared for the needs of the job. Not needs of family or circumstances. 

வேளைக்கு ஆள் எடுக்கும் முறை, சிறு நிறுவனம் மற்றும் பெரிய நிறுவனம் இவற்றில் வேறுபடும். புரிந்து கொள்ளவும். பெரிய நிறுவனத்தில், புதிய, பயிற்சிக்கு ஆள்களை தேர்வு செய்யும் போது, அவர்கள் உண்மையில் எந்த அனுபவமும் இல்லாத புதியவர்களாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என்று நினைக்கிறார்கள். அப்போது தான் அவர்கள் தேவைக்கு ஏற்ப உங்களை தயார் செய்ய முடியும். அந்த முதல் சந்திப்பில், நீங்கள் தற்காலிகமாக வேலை பார்ப்பதை பற்றி சொல்ல வேண்டாம். நீங்கள் நிராகரிக்கப் படலாம். முழுவதும் புதியவர் போல, ஒன்றும் தெரியாத அப்பாவி போல நடந்து கொள்ளுங்கள்.

Recruitment process varies for Small business and large companies. Understand that. When large companies look for freshers and trainees, they look for real ‘fresh’ with no exposure to any other job.  In that interview don’t talk about any temporary jobs or part-time jobs you did.  Simply behave like a total fresher or be the one.

குறியீடு மட்டுமே முக்கியம் என்ற வேலைகளில், நீங்கள் குழுவாக சேர்ந்து செல்லலாம். குறியீடு அடைபவர்களுக்கு மட்டுமே சம்பளம் கிடைக்கும். ஆனால், நிர்வாகம், வாடிக்கையாளர் சேவை, வரவு செலவு பொறுப்பு போன்ற வேலைகளுக்கு நீங்கள் உங்கள் நண்பர்களோடு சென்றால், உங்களுக்கு நீங்களே போட்டியை உருவாக்குகிறீர்கள்.

In target oriented jobs, they don’t care, go with your friends. They are going to pay whoever performs. But, jobs in admin, hr, service, customer care, don’t create a competition for yourself by going with your friends.

காபியா? டீயா?COFFEE OR TEA ?

காபியா? டீயா? என்று கேட்டால், ‘வேண்டவே வேண்டாம்’ என்று மறுக்க வேண்டாம். ‘எனக்கு தேவை இல்லை. ஆனால் உங்களுக்கு சிரமம் இல்லாமல் எதுவேணாலும் சரி’ என சொல்லுங்கள்.

If Coffee or Tea offered, don’t say ‘NO’ simply. Don’t say ‘YES’  on the spot. Offer them a suggestion. “I don’t really need, but for the sake of conversation anything that is not inconvenient to get, is OK”.  

காபி, டீ கொடுக்க முயற்சிப்பது, பேச்சு வார்த்தையை நீட்டித்து நல்ல முடிவு எடுப்பதற்கான ஒரு முயற்சி என அறியவும்.

Remember, Coffee or Tea is offered to lengthen the conversation and to analyse the other person and to arrive at a smooth decision even in complex circumstances.

முந்தைய வேலை?Previous job?

முந்தைய வேலையை மதியுங்கள். முந்தைய வேலை பற்றிய முக்கிய விஷயங்களை சொல்ல வேண்டாம். அதுவே நீங்கள் நம்பிக்கையானவர் என உணர வைக்கும்.

Respect your previous job. Maintain data secrecy for the previous job even if they sent you out unceremoniously.
